What we Are About:

We are located in northwest Chatham County, less than a mile from the Alamance County line. We seek to love God by serving our surrounding communities, as well as increasing our efforts to serve nationally and globally. Our hope is to demonstrate the saving love of Jesus Christ to the world.

As recipients of God's salvation through Jesus Christ, we are committed disciples of Jesus Christ. We are people who follow his example and teachings, and we desire to make disciples of Jesus through intentional relationships.

We seek to achieve our mission statement in three words: Love, Live, and Lead.

  • Love: We love God because he first loved us. God invites us into a relationship. This relationship is made possible and sustained through faith in Jesus. Knowing and loving God is our first and most important calling.
  • Live: We are only able to live out godly lives when we are in continuing relationship with God. As we are in communion with God, God transforms our lives, shaping us and growing us to live in holy character.
  • Lead: As followers of Jesus, we lead others to discover who they are in Christ. God changes who we are and how we live to draw others and reach the world. As we abide in Christ, God uses our lives to make disciples.

Our Beliefs

1. We believe the Bible to be inspired by the Holy Spirit and is infallible in its teachings.

2. We believe the Godhead to exist in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

3. We believe in Jesus Christ as the ONLY begotten Son of God, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His redeeming work on Calvary, His bodily resurrection from the grave, and His personal return.

4. We believe that people receive salvation as a gift from God through faith in Jesus Christ.

5. We believe that the essential baptism is that of the Holy Spirit.

6. We believe the Holy Spirit enables the Christian to live a godly life.

7. We believe all "Born-Again Believers" are children of God.

Friends derive their name from the words of Christ as recorded in John 15:15, "I have called you Friends." Friends are orthodox and evangelical in their position on all the great beliefs of the church. We accept the doctrines of the Apostolic church and distinctively emphasize the truth that the Holy Spirit enlightens every heart to reveal its condition and makes the individual sense the need of the Savior, Jesus Christ. South Fork Friends is a group of people who loves God and honors Christ as Savior and Lord. We regard the scripture as the foundational rule of conduct for our lives. While we are in agreement with the historic beliefs of the church, we insist that these beliefs should never become static, as merely articles of faith, but should be dynamic in the lives of God's people and alive in the world.
